A Little Bit of History
We are often asked where wedding favours come from and what they are actually for.
They originated in Europe many hundreds of years ago, although a similar concept has existed in different cultures for perhaps even longer.
Wedding favours are a token of thanks from the bride to the female wedding guests. It is traditional to have 5 items in each favour, as each of these symbolises a wish for the future:
Health
Wealth
Fertility
Longevity
Happiness
They were known as bombonieres, as they contained sweets, traditionally sugared almonds, although these days almost anything goes and some people like to have something a little bit different.
Although favours were given to the female guests, it is becoming more usual these days for the male guests to be given a little something too, and this may be completely different to the favours given to the female guests, whilst still co-ordinating with the wedding theme.

Prices
We don’t have fixed prices for our favours, as there are so many variations of what we can do – have a look at our ranges below – you may like a certain shaped box in a certain type of card, in a different colour and with different embellishments than shown in the picture. We can draw all these elements together for you and create something totally individual to your own requirements. The prices shown below are for favours containing metallic coated dragees, large or small as stated.
Our budget favours range from £1.95 each, including dragees or almonds, whilst our more elaborate favours range from £4.95 each.
It really depends on what your wedding theme is, what styles you like and of course how much you want to spend – just ask us, we can probably do it.
Remember – whatever your wedding theme,
we can match the favours to your stationery
